Troops from the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), successfully rescued 52 kidnapped victims in a well-coordinated operation in Sokoto State’s Isa Local Government Area.
In a statement on its official platform, the Army highlighted the operation conducted on December 22, 2023, as part of ongoing efforts against terrorists in their designated Areas of Responsibility.
The troops cleared and dismantled terrorist enclaves in Saruwa, Kubuta, Gundumi villages, and Bunwanga Gundumi forest in Isa LGA.
The rescue operation resulted in neutralizing several terrorists, and the freed victims—14 males, 32 females, and 6 children—will undergo medical checks, debriefing, and subsequent handover to appropriate authorities for reunification with their families.
